I go wherever the problem is. If it's in the research, I research. If it's on the screen, I draw. If it's in the architecture of the product's language, that's where I stay.

That isn't a lack of focus, it's what each job asked for. In one project the problem was vocabulary: the feature existed in Europe and made no sense in Brazil. In another it was media cost disguised as a layout choice. In another it was a commercial promise to reproduce twenty-four clients' brands. None of the three was solved by a pretty screen alone, and none by code alone.

I started in Computer Engineering at Unicamp and spent almost two years at the Apple Developer Academy, where the job title was UX Designer and iOS Developer, both on the same line. I never unlearned that. I still draw the screen and write its color and spacing in the code.

Today I'm a senior product designer at Diletta Solutions, in Campinas, Brazil, since November 2021. Counting from the Apple Developer Academy, where I started in February 2021, it is almost six years in product design. I design fintech products end to end for clients including N26, Up Brasil, Banco Bold, Diletta Pay and CPF Seguro, from research and problem definition through UI and handover to engineering.

That splits in two. One half is research and screens. The other is the product's own language: the names color, spacing and components carry inside the code, and the check that measures whether Figma and the code still agree. I prefer the second. That's where the work stops depending on me.

The most useful thing I built in the last two years was not a screen, it was a process. The design decision now has a written source, the product draws from it, and an AI agent checks both ends: it reads the repository, compares what the specification declares with what the product does, and hands me the list of what diverged. That is 2,062 measurements on every version and 22 flows checked by a program, with output a person reads.

Writing the code stopped being the differentiator a while ago. Building the process where the machine measures and the person decides did not. It is the part of the job I most want to be in, and it is where my time in Computer Engineering at Unicamp finally pays off: I know what the machine can check on its own, and I know what it has no way of knowing.

Outside work I co-founded Olá Mundo!, a nonprofit that teaches computer science in Brazilian public schools.
